Details

Bimat eye drops have a phenomenal application in the treatment of hypotrichosis (short eyelashes) and increases the length, thickness and color of eyelashes. Bimat eye drops are effectively used to treat patients diagnosed with glaucoma where it decreases the intraocular pressure in the eyes. The active constituent present in Bimat eye drops is Bimatoprost.

Mechanism of action of Bimat eye drops:

Bimatoprost reduces the intraocular pressure (IOC) in the eye by copying the action of naturally occurring prostaglandin. It increases the drainage of the aqueous humor out of the eyeball. Bimatoprost is a synthetic analog of prostaglandins and works by increasing the drainage of aqueous humour out of the eyeball. Bimatoprost also decreases the rate of formation of aqueous in the eye. Both these effects decrease the pressure within the eye.

Dosage regimen of Bimat eye drops:

You should instill one drop of Bimat eye drop in the affected area once in a day in the evening. You should wash your hands before using Bimat eye drops. Tilt your head back. Use your index finger to pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch. Drop the Bimat eye drop into the pouch and gently close your eyes. You should use your finger to apply pressure to the inside corner of the eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Do not blink. You should use only the number of eye drops that your doctor has prescribed. Wait for at least 10-15 minutes before using any other eye drops that your doctor has prescribed.
